My objective of this project was to create character designs inspired by flowers and houseplants. I began by researching interesting facts about each flower/plant and using one or two as the basis of each character’s personality and interests. I chose to create everyday human characters to explore the expression of personality through poses and clothes styles found around the world. I also took into account where the flower/plant was native to to determine their ethnicity. This project was inspired by all the beautiful flowers I see during my summer job at a greenhouse and my love for character design.
